2023 marked a year of consolidation and major achievements for Audioboost, the Italian audio martech startup founded in 2021 with a bold vision: transforming web audiences into engaged, audio-accessible audiences optimized for digital advertising.
This milestone was achieved with the Speakup-Article™ platform, now adopted by nearly 300 websites, delivering 500 million monthly page views and generating over 70,000 monthly audio pieces in Italian. This makes Audioboost the undisputed leader in online audio content reproduction in Italy.
The company’s leadership stems from resilience and continuous technological investments, including the launch of the first Vocal Avatar integrated with Text-to-Speech (Project GIAVA), the Storycast platform for branded podcast distribution, and ongoing UX and performance upgrades for Speakup-Article™.
This innovation enabled Audioboost to expand its network, onboarding Premium publishers such as Tiscali.it, EveryEye.it, GamberoRosso.it, and others, while partnering with key Italian digital networks like Adasta and Movingup.
Revenue grew triple digits compared to 2022, a typical startup trajectory. However, the standout achievement was amplifying branded podcasts natively and organically. Audioboost’s Pull approach—via Speakup-Article™ playlists—boosted podcast series for brands like Generali, Nissan, FederChimica, and Repower.
With Storycast, Audioboost now empowers partners to access their Audible Audience directly, amplifying branded content seamlessly across its network. This positions the platform as more than just advertising—offering true editorial value to Premium publishers.
Audioboost’s international prospects are also bright, having initiated tests in the U.S. market following notable participation in global trade fairs.
“We’re incredibly proud of our 2023 results,” says Cristina Pianura, Founder and CEO. “Despite Italy’s challenges in embracing innovation and OTT competition, we achieved extraordinary reach and validated Speakup-Article™’s success. 2024 will be a game-changing year for Audio—our focus will be on Attention KPIs and new features for Speakup-Article™ to meet the 2025 accessibility challenge.”
